Sport plays a large part in school life
With fantastic grounds and facilities, sport plays a large part in the life of the school and children are encouraged to try a variety of sports. At Polwhele House we have over 30 acres of land which includes grass pitches, paddocks and a sand school, an athletics track, netball courts, three grass tennis courts, a large hall, cricket nets, trekking routes and cross-country courses through woodland.
We fully appreciate the greater benefits to be derived from sport other than just fitness and motor co-ordination – such as teamwork, sportsmanship, and camaraderie and thus our timetable is arranged so that all the children receive quality coaching, regardless of their ability and we aim to give as many as possible the opportunity to represent the school.
All children participate in PE, games sessions and swimming lessons with many other sporting activities on offer after school.
