The school offers equestrian scholarships each year to provide opportunities and development for talented young riders in Cornwall.
With our extensive grounds and woodland, it is hardly surprising that we have chosen to offer our pupils the opportunity to ride – a unique school activity in Cornwall. There are however some children that show particular talent with ponies and these young people are encouraged to apply for an Equestrian Scholarship. Suitable applicants will be invited to attend a taster day, to include a riding assessment (walk, trot, canter & a small jump).

Mentored by our experienced staff, Equestrian Scholars have the opportunity to improve their riding and horsemanship skills across the board and also represent the school at local inter school competitions. In semi-private and small group riding lessons, they learn how to best develop their skills to achieve successful results with different ponies, in dressage, show jumping and cross country disciplines.

Our Equestrian Scholars play an important and active role in the management of the stable yard, and learn practical stable management skills at morning or evening duties before and after the school day.
