Jeremy Mason was appointed from an extremely strong field to take over as Head from September 2002.  He was previously deputy head and senior housemaster at The Pilgrims' School in Winchester.

An old boy of Whitgift School, Croydon, Jeremy (Jo) has a degree from Bristol University and has taught at a variety of other schools. A keen sportsman, he plays cricket and golf when time permits and is a RFU referee.

Jo and Norah Mason live at Polwhele. Norah is also a teacher and is involved in the life of the school.

How to get to Polwhele House

 

Polwhele House is directly off the A39, about one and a half miles from the centre of Truro. The main A30 Carland Cross roundabout is about five miles north along the A39.

Air Service – Newquay Airport is 15 minutes drive from Carland Cross. Newquay to Gatwick, one hour and ten minutes.

 

Rail Service – London, four hours. Taunton, two hours. Plymouth,

one hour. Penzance 30 minutes.

 

Bus Service – Daily from Camborne/Redruth via Chacewater, Highertown and central Truro.

Admission procedure

Normal entry age is 3-4 years, at 7 years, or at 11 years of age. Individual assessment and entry is arranged at any time of the year.

 

Bursaries

Scholarships and bursaries may be awarded to children who display special ability or talent. Bursaries for the children of teachers or clergy. Choral bursaries for boy choristers; music bursaries for girls.
