Enrolment Procedure

A strength of Polwhele House is the range of choices available to parents regarding options for secondary education. The needs of the children can change as they mature, and what might appear to be an appropriate destination at an early age can alter as young people approach adolescence. Changes in financial situations can also have a bearing on this important decision.

Pupils can join Polwhele House at any time between the ages of 2 years 9 months and 12+ years.

Prospective parents are invited to come and meet the Headmaster and given a tour of the school by the Headmaster and his wife and a chance to experience life at Polwhele House.

The child then comes to the school for an assessment day or "taster" experience. Experience has taught us that these sessions are invaluable for both the potential pupil and the school.

Following this the Headmaster will formally offer a place and parents are requested to complete the registration form and fee in order to secure the place.

Scholarships and bursaries are awarded to children who display special ability or talent and bursaries are available for the children of clergy and teachers. The children of armed forces personnel receive boarding bursaries.
